Best Chance Too Chooses Cannon! |
 | Best Chance Too is proud to announce their new relationship with Cannon Downriggers and Johnson Outdoors. In addition to Cannon, Johnson Outdoors also manufactures Minn Kota trolling motors, Old Town and Necky canoes and kayaks, Eureka tents, and many other fine outdoor recreational products. “We at Cannon are extremely excited to be working with Best Chance Too. Our shared passion for fishing and growing the sport makes this a perfect partnership. Best Chance Too is one of the most well recognized and highly respected fishing teams on the Great Lakes. We are confident that the combination of Best Chance Too and Cannon means great things to come!” - Dave Maryanov, Cannon Brand Manager As Captain Dave Engel said, "We have tried the rest, now we are using the best - Cannon! It takes a really tough downrigger to stand up to the abuse of a long fishing season, and Cannon downriggers are the ones I've chosen. We are very excited about the new rod holders and how well thought out Cannon products are. With the tough competition on the tournament circuit these days, the last thing I want to worry about is whether my downriggers will work properly. That's why we chose Cannon!" - Captain Dave Engel, Best Chance Too Sportfishing Team | |

Dave Engel of Saugatuck, Michigan (view Tournament Wins), one of the best charter captains and tournament anglers on Lake Michigan. Engel captains the 36-foot Tiara, Best Chance Too, with fishing and business partner Capt. Bill Bale. Engel earned his captain’s license at age 18, and has now chartered more than 30 years. Best Chance Too Wins Muskegon Salmon Shootout! |
 | | | | Best Chance Too wins First Place in the Muskegon Salmon Shootout on July 7th and 8th in 2009. With a 71 boat turnout, Best Chance Too was the only team to limit out on both days, even though this year the catch limit had been dropped to 10 fish from the previous year's 12 fish limit. And on top of that, they were finished by 9:30 AM each day. Fishing was very tough for the entire week before the Muskegon tournament, with most teams struggling to find the fish. Being the only boat to catch their 10 fish each day gave Best Chance Too a 90 point lead over the 2nd place boat, as well as a huge advantage over the rest of the field. Nice job, fellas! | | |

Best Chance Too Wins 2009 South Haven Pro/Am! |
| | | Best Chance Too takes first place in the South Haven Pro/Am with a whopping 297 lbs. in two days of fishing. After experiencing the largest catches since the 12 fish limit was implemented from the traditional fifteen fish limit, Best Chance Too rises to the top once again. Untypical spring fishing has made it very difficult to win, when literally all the boats are limiting out in all of the tournaments. "It's like playing Russian Roulette to stay away from the small fish", Capt. Dave Engel has quoted to local sports writers. But the good news is there is lots of bait, and the fish are much larger and much healthier than they have been in many years. Best Chance Too also wins first place in the Offshore Tackle Challenge. "Maybe it's the new uniforms?"

Step Aboard The BEST CHANCE TOO.... |
Where fishing dreams come true. Although Charter Fishing comes first, we still compete in many of the tournaments on Lake Michigan. We start our year in Michigan City then move up (and across) the lake with the tournaments and the migration of the fish. The tournaments occur during the period when fishing is at its peak in each port. This makes for an awesome fishing experience for our customers. Tournaments and our locations throughout the season are listed on our calendar. We typically fish one to two weeks in each port before we move to the next port.
To date, Best Chance Too has won more tournaments than any boat on Lake Michigan. Best Chance Too is the only tournament team to ever win 1st place in all four states (Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan) on Lake Michigan. We fish the hottest ports on Lake Michigan when fishing is the best. We have placed 1st 47 times in tournaments, and have over 200 top five finishes since 1994.
Best Chance Too is the most sought after field tester boat on Lake Michigan, giving us access to the newest cutting edge equipment available, in most cases before it hits the market place. This opportunity helps us to win more tournaments and catch more fish for our customers. |
